Walking barefooted without the pain

Rating:*****
One of the most interesting set of footwears you will ever wear. I used this footwear on several trails and found them to be a novel experience. It is like walking barefooted without the pain of breaking in your soles. You will feel every single rock, branch, pebble and mud stump but not the discomfort that goes with such feel. It was an interesting experience walking on wet cold pavement and feeling my feet in that condition even although they are dry. I found that it does help my back problems as my walking stride changes and I feel my leg muscles getting stronger as well. Its well made, surprisingly durable and got good traction. You actually begin to understand what your toes are all about as you walk in these footwear. Only downside is putting them on. More or less, I find my toes unwilling to cooperate and I find myself with two toes in one toe slot. It does get better with practice. But overall, a perfect pair of footwear for people who want to go about barefooted but got pamper soles. Oh yes, it would help if you break in slowly into this. Initially, it feel like you been walking around a large shopping mall barefooted, you will get footsore.

Free your feet!

Rating:*****
I love this shoe. Period. Nothing compares to being able to charge life's playground with all the tactile agility one can muster. Five fingers feels just like someone attached a form-fitted Vibram outsole to my barefoot and let me scramble around all day. I've used them for running (which is a breath of fresh air for those who like to run barefoot or in sandals), hiking, climbing, and just about everything in between. I also use them for work, which requires me standing, squatting, and walking around for long periods of time, and these things hold up great, fit like a glove, and breath incredibly well. While they do take some getting used to, and require a sort of retraining of how your foot is naturally designed to function sans shoes, the benefits of increased agility, muscle strength, and balance are so worth it. Plus, they're light enough you practically forget they're there. Whilst I'd easily give 'em 5 out of 5, I do wish they'd extend the out sole farther up the back like the Classics, to better serve climbing as they are often used for. Still, a perfect product in my book. I'm sold!

Great Barefoot Alternative

Rating:*****
These shoes are all that I hoped for.

I wanted footwear that simulated being barefoot and had read a ton of positive reviews on this product. I was not disappointed.

The shoes conform to the shape of your feet and provide rugged protection while allowing you to feel the surfaces that you are walking/running on (temperature and texture).

The shoes that were supposed to fit me after I measured my foot and found the corresponding size on the Vibram Fivefingers site's sizing chart felt too snug for my big toe at first. Once I got the hang of placing my foot properly in the shoe, this issue was resolved.

If you're looking for a natural alternative to overly-cushioned modern shoes, this is the product for you.

Very comfortable

I'm doing a this response but also have kso's. same comment left there.
I like the sprints for kicking around town and tend to wear them to work. I am part time retail so I'm on my feet about 8 hours three days a week. After wearing these I don't have sore feet any more. I'm more fresh when I get home. I use the kso's for more active endeavors and maybe it's just in my head but they feel more secure. The sizing is slightly different from the two as well which seemed odd. 45 - sprints. 44 - kso's

"Spiderman shoe"

Rating:****
I love these shoes- you feel like "Spiderman" in them- I had great traction on rocks and felt like my foot could really grip the ground. The shoes become like a part of your feet. However, they are a bit slippery on wet rocks when fording streams. Also, while they have a great durable sole there really is no padding to it (I am sure this would take away from the barefoot feel). I did use them for trail running in Glacier National Park and after over an hour on hard packed rock strewn trails my feet were a bit beat up.

Not for the feint of heart.

I've used these for everyday wear, a bit of jogging, and canyoneering. They smear great on wet rocks, but as was noted earlier, they don't handle sand well. Woe unto he who gets a layer of sand between these souls and a slick rock. And the canyon approaches I've done in these were miserable affairs full of rock and cactus. But for wading and swimming in canyons, as well as walking/jogging on dry land, these things are great. And if you wear them around town, expect to be acosted by strangers asking you where you found them.

completely awesome!

Definitely an amazing product. If you are looking to improve your running while minimizing injuries, but are nervous to go totally barefoot then these are it. I am a Marine, so I spend a good deal of time putting miles down, and I have tried all kinds of different shoes (and dealt with all kinds of running injuries). The way these shoes help you improve your form and strengthen your feet is incredible. Even if you aren't 100% sold on the idea, just try them out for a little while and you will be amazed.

These are not just barefoot simulators. They are barefooting tools. They let you barefoot on surfaces where you can't actually barefoot: gravely or sandy trails, river bottoms, glass ridden sidewalks. they let you feel the surface without beating up your feet too badly. Ive been transitioning to barefoot running for about a month and these let me run at a full speed on trails and avoid blisters. They are great shoes for everything. if only they didn't look so goofy.

Best shoes ever!

Rating:*****
I've used these things for about 8 monthes now. It takes some getting used to, but they are the bestest shoes I've ever worn. As far as exercise, they allow you to actually strengthen your feet and ankles, instead of protecting them. They stick great to everything, including wet, mossy rock. Sand does give them a bit of a problem, though.

YES, YES, YES, YES

These are the best pair of footwear I have ever owned! I wear them to hike, climb, run, pretty much do anything. They are my everyday shoes! I get tons of people asked where they can get a pair.

Only downside.....they stink after a few weeks of wear. Wash them please......for your sake and mine.

AWESOME!!!
