The Vanslite Snowaffle Sole uses Vans' secret recipe rubber compound throughout the high-wear areas on the boot, but these enhancements won't mute your energy transmission to your bindings and board. In fact, if you checked out the Vans Pro-Flex Snowaffle Air Outsole on previous Encores, you'll notice better sensitivity with the benefit of added durability through multiple seasons. The Encore uses a toasty Trifit Asym-X thermal liner that offers great heel-hold technology for performance. Up top you'll find a warm, seam-brushed fleece upper cuff. One of the best features on the Encore--the dial-oriented BOA H2 Coiler Closure system--remains very similar to seasons past. The BOA closure allows for simple and easy entries and exits while the rotating dial tweaks your fit with almost near-infinite settings. The low-profile die-cut EVA midsole gives you great cushioning with metatarsal and heel impact pads, but doesn't sacrifice the skate look (just remember that this boot doesn't have the air sole--that's something aggressive riders want after taking massive air). Fit Tip:All Boots seem to stretch out about 1/2 size. It is normal to have a smaller Boot size than your shoe size to compensate for the boots stretching and getting "BIGGER" from how they feel in the store.
-Make sure to work with a boot tech person to fit the boot to the "SHAPE" of your foot. Fit Shape is vital to the performance of any brand of boot. Be sure to walk around in the boots(10-15min) fully laced to help make sure they are the correct shape for your foot.
-For improved fit and comfort consider adding a CUSTOM FOOTBED like "Superfeet" that is properly matched to your arch shape. This will help the boot anatomically support your foot which will reduce pressure points and securely hold your foot in place.

normally i'm a burton guy for most of my snowboarding needs they've always just got it dialed with innovation and craftsmanship. ii actually exchanged a pair of burton boots for these vans because the lacing system is better on the vans. love the boa lacing system. it's great to be able to tighten or loosen your boots in a snap without having dangling laces to get in the way. you can dial them to the perfect amount of tension. and my feet have never gotten cold in my vans. | |
