The hemp makes for a really cool design and a comfortable wear at the same time. In addition to these great shoes, I also received excellent service from Zappos. I e-mailed them only to tell them that I accidentally entered some of the shipping information incorrectly, and they simply replied, "sure we'll fix that for you, and to top it all off, we're going to upgrade your shipping so your shoes will get to you in only 3 days." I was thoroughly pleased and plan on buying my shoes from these guys from now on. Awesome job Zappos! | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 04/24/2009 | | Rating: | | | Sole wears down fastat first, but slows down once it gets deeper. Try to keep them clean if you think you're going to care about them. Mine got pretty dirty because I was moving and since they are colored with water based ink I don't think you can wash them. I don't want to risk it. I'm going to buy two more pairs. Oh, my first pair was the green and yellow ones, they ruined every pair of socks I wore with them for the first week, so I would be careful; don't wear good socks. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 01/12/2010 | | Rating: | | | Hemp is the best material for a shoe to last long and is very giving. The base of these shoes feel nothing like all other Vans; these are way more comfortable, sole is made of bamboo. These shoes are super light feeling, like you don't even have shoes on at all! Best Vans I have purchased and I have been buying Vans for a long time! Good job Vans! | | Nathan D at Zappos.com on 10/14/2009 | | Rating: | | | I love anything vans and own a ton of their shoes. When I saw these I was instantly hooked and had to own a pair. They are very lightweight and comfortable. These are the kind of shoes you need to pick up in every color before they run out. | | Jamie at Zappos.com on 03/19/2009 | | Rating: | | | The size is true, the fit is perfect with thin socks or no socks, with thick socks it is snug but comfortable. The color was more of a dark brick red brown, rather than brown! But I like! However, the shoe is very very comfortable! Thanks Zappos! | | Trynor at Zappos.com on 07/05/2009 | | Rating: | | | The Vans were better than I expected. My nephew has other Vans, but these are even better. The color pattern is great and they are lined with fleece without changing the shoe size. I would recommend them and it is hard to find brown Vans. | | Belinda E at Zappos.com on 01/01/2010 | | Rating: | | | These shoes are extremely comfortable. They are very lightweight and simple, although the sole isn't too durable. They wear way too fast. Nice shoes overall. | | Josh at Zappos.com on 05/28/2009 |
| Negative Reviews:| Rating: | | | I love classic looking Vans, and these looked awesome. They arrived and still looked awesome. But after a week of wear they were almost worn out. After a month they were in the trash. Whatever material they use for the bottom is a joke (I didn't even skate in them or do anything other than walk). Do not waste your money. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 10/22/2009 | | Rating: | | | I wore these twice and one of the laces pulled a grommet out of the shoe! Bummer. They still are crazy comfy and look awesome, though. | | David c at Zappos.com on 10/30/2009 |
Neutral Reviews:| Rating: | | | Great looking shoe. I\'m on my second pair. My complaints are that the soles wear out quickly and the uppers come apart from the soles. Possibly the water based glue is the problem. The last pair took about 4-6 months before they were unwearable. Granted I wear them almost every day walking the sidewalks of NYC and Brooklyn. But considering the price, I do wish they would last longer. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 12/03/2009 | | Rating: | | | Well, when I tried them on, I thought, "magic." Finally, a decent pair of sneakers sans bells and whistles. But, sadly, after a few hours of wear, they gave me some pretty gnarly blisters. I have faith that they just need to be broken in, but my blisters are still healing. | | Maggie R at Zappos.com on 12/28/2009 |
