These boots are sleek looking, sturdy, and timeless. I bought black suedes first, then the brown. If ever I recover from the expense! I will definitely purchase the light leather Broomes, too. A perfect urban-suburban boot you can wear anywhere, with or without socks. I have to say they are new in my closet, but I have worn them 4 or 5 times so far in Austin's mild fall weather and I am completely satisfied with the look and feel. Comfy yes, but this style runs a little narrow in width and shaft in my opinion. More like a dress and skirt boot than a pant boot. Maybe in time if they do stretch out, I'll be able to slip them over some skinny jeans for complete versatility. They aren't orthotic-comfy for those with back and feet problems like me, but they do have flexibility evenly throughout the soles and shaft which make them very doable for me and very worth keeping for years to come. Timeless classic, understated sexy. Pulls together everything I wear. Great Ugg quality and Zappos service. I'm set for winter! I was really impressed with the looks of the curly lining, super soft, would have been better if it was carried throughout the boot. Not as sturdy of a boot as I had expected, the shaft seems a little thin. Really dark black! The calf opening is really small! If you are looking for a boot to tuck your jeans into, forget it, even with just leggings it was a tight fit. I wear a size 6 in Classic Tall, and Knightsbridge, after reading the reviews I ordered a 7. I would say a good fit, especially if you wear socks with them. Barefoot my heel and toes felt loose. A 6 1/2 would've been perfect. A really elegant boot to dress up with, but too tight in the calf and jean-tucking is a negative. Regrettably I will be returning them. Ordered the Swell, gonna give them a whirl. | | Melissa H at Zappos.com on 12/30/2009 | | Rating: | | | Bought these boots three winters ago. They've lasted beautifully. I did weatherproof them, but I've really put them through the ringer. Maine winters, New York slushy sidewalks and the most recent blizzard in Washington, DC. They are comfortable. They are warm. They are beautiful. I do wear socks with them; I see that there's been some debate about that, but my feet don't sweat too much and there is the perfect amount of warmth in the calf area. Only one slight issue: the tip of the shoes started to come apart a bit. I got that fixed at the shoe repair store. Other than that, no problems. A fantastic investment, that's how I thought about them. They are certainly expensive, but they've lasted and I hope to have them for many more winters! | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 01/02/2010 | | Rating: | | | I have wanted the Broome since last year. I finally pulled the trigger and I am very glad I did! I tried this boot on at the store and needed to try 2 pairs of the same boot to get one that fit my calf more comfortably. I didn't realize how much the lining affects the calf circumference. The salesman explained that the suede stretches a little with each wear and that the production lots varied. My Zappos pair were initially snug in my left calf, but loosened up throughout the first wearing. I like the sturdiness of this boot. Very comfortable. Good traction. I sprayed them with Ugg sheepskin water and stain repellent. They look great with skirts or dresses. | | Diana G at Zappos.com on 11/26/2009 | | Rating: | | | I love these boots. They are true to size, but are quite narrow in the leg. If you half a bigger than usual calf, they might be tight. There are warm, but not as warm as the traditional Uggs which are totally lined top to bottom, side to side with sheepskin. These boots are lined throughout except for the area around the foot (if you zoom in you can actually see this area has seaming around it). They come with removable sheepskin footliner inserts so the bottom of your feet stay nice and warm. They are very attractive and look great with skirts, trousers and jeans. Would love to get them in brown. | | Phyllis S at Zappos.com on 01/07/2010 | | Rating: | | | I love these boots, but I could not keep them. I have athletic calves and I could not fit my Jeans inside these boots. I'm 5'8", 140 pounds but like I said, I have strong legs. I'm very bummed about this. These boots are beautiful and I am very sad to have to return them. I have a pair of classic tall chestnut and a pair of Ultra Tall Black and I love them. I going to invest in the Ultimate Tall Chocolate now. I know they will fit my bigger calves. Zappos was super fast I must say, so I will definitely order through them again. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 12/02/2009 | | Rating: | | | Love it! I have a pair of the Ugg Classic Talls, but they are seriously soooo ugg-ly I feel embarrassed wearing them in public. I got these boots as an early Christmas present, and I looooooove them. They pinched a little the first time I wore them, but they stretched perfectly and now are just as comfortable as the Classics. Definitely order your true size, unlike with the Classics. And make sure you protect the leather, because I didn't and they're starting to look a little rough. I blame myself though, not the boot, because I'm hard on shoes! | | Meagan R at Zappos.com on 12/09/2008 | | Rating: | | | My order arrived very quickly. I have size 11 feet and a 16 in calf. These boots fit snugly over denim. They are warm and good looking. The heal is darker then it appeared on my computer. It is more of a dark brown then a tan. I would buy them in black if I did it again. The brown looks good it just doesn\'t work as well with my wardrobe. I think the shaft of the is also designed for a shorter person though, it is not very obvious just by looking at them. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 10/10/2009 | | Rating: | | | I wanted a nicer looking boot to wear with skirts that would stand up to the cold Chicago winters. The black suede is really nice and the boot looks good. It is comfortable to wear but when it gets really cold here I did find that it did not keep my toes as warm as my other uggs even with socks, which I am sure is because they are not lined over the foot. Still they are better than other boots I have worn and worth slightly chilly toes for the look! | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 01/05/2009 | | Rating: | | | These boots are fabulous! I've barely taken them off since I bought them. I was a little concerned that they would be stiff, but I got them broken in in no time at all. I'm a dancer, and my calves are pretty muscular (read: difficult to fit into high boots), but these weren't a problem to get zipped up, even tucking in skinny jeans. They're sturdy, warm, and really comfortable. I love Uggs, but they're usually not very sexy or stylish. These are both, and a great investment. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 01/08/2010 |
| Negative Reviews:| Rating: | | | Disappointed - I purchased these boots on-line late last winter and unfortunately, the rubber sole has already separated from the wooden part of the boot which itself has quickly faded in color. Also, I have worn these boots for less than 5 months (3 last winter and 2 this winter) and the heels have worn out. I am in the process of trying to return them. I have found, too that in truly cold weather, with or without sock they don't keep my feet warm, but my legs stay toasty. | | Anonymous at Zappos.com on 12/16/2008 |
