Boys XL vs. Girls L

I posted below a few days ago after i got my Boys XL in the mail...

I got the boys XL for my girlfriend who is 5'2 and 120..i messed up earlier when i said she was 5'4...nope...she's 5'2.

so she's 5'2 and 120lbs. she wears size small in everything usually...

I initially ordered the boys XL for her thinking i could save a few bux to put toward other christmas presents. when it came in thee mail, it was just wayyyy to big...

so, backcountry being great, split the cost of 2nd day delivery for me and immediately rushed me out a girls L.

that fit PERFECTLY. my girlfriend absoltuely loves it.

so i had a problem monday night, and backcountry fixed it by wednesday afternoon. im in PA, they're in UTAH. awesome.

so now i'm stuck with this boys XL which backcountry immediately created a shipping ticket for and emailed to me to ship back for free.

im actually keeping both jackets now.

my buddy jason, who sucks because he's a little guy and can fit into kids' sizes actually loved the boys XL... so instead of paying $131 for it here on backcountry for a men's size...he just ended up taking the boys size....

now backcountry, dont get mad at me cuz i sold him the boys size instead of him buying the mens size.

im gonna buy yet another denali jacket from you guys, and i have no choice but to buy mens cuz im 6ft tall and 220lbs...yeah what can i say. im awesome.

anyways...girls L will fit a woman who is 5'2 120lbs perfectly.

boys XL will fit a guy 5'5 and 120lbs....

so if you know a guy like my buddy jason who is 5'5 and 120lbs...get him the boys XL...and maybe a sandwich too.

Be careful when ordering a boys denali for a woman!

First of all, let me make sure you understand that this jacket is great and definitley deserves 5 stars.

I have 2 myself and wanted to order one for my girlfriend for christmas. Sizing always seems to be an issue when ordering online, and based on other posts i found that you can apparently order a boys size, save a bunch of money, and have it nicely fit a woman.

A couple reviews noted XL being a great size for women 5'4 and 120. thats simply not the case.

My girlfriend is 5'4 and 120 and this jacket is WAY too big on her in XL.

If you're going to try and save some cash by ordering boys size for a woman, my best advice is to take measurements. sure it is going to ruin the surprise of the jacket, but come on. It isnt that big a deal. you want to make sure the size is right and ruin the surprise vs. keep it a surprise and have a giant northface parachute on christmas day.

i have full confidence that backcountry will honor my return as they have been the best company i've ever dealt with in terms of customer service.

i've purchased ALL my snowboarding gear here ever since i found out about this site.

So, best bet...if you're gonna order this jacket like a cheapskate in boys for a woman like i did...

take measurements!!!!!!!

Boys North Face

Last year I purchased a North Face for my son. He is ten years old and not a kid who really cares about clothes. The exception is his North Face Denali jacket. He loves it and feels cool wearing it, and I like how it keeps him warm. Fashionable and useful and washes like a dream. He misplaced his and was VERY UPSET. Luckily , he found it. However, he had a huge growth spurt so he wants a new one for Christmas, and he wants the same color.
You all had it and were great as always. And I was lucky, it was a discontinued color that they were kind enough to discount. Thanks for being a great company with excellent products.

Denali Fleece Childrens & Adult

My Mom and I purchased 3 childrens Denali jackets in small and large, the small was just a little large for the 7 yr old but she will get an extra season of wear, the size small was perfect for the 8 yr old. The boys large was perfect for the 11 yr old. We were so pleased that I oldered an XL for me and I really have ejoyed it especially wearing it in the blizzard of 09' in Oklahoma. My mother is 80 yr. old and decided she wanted one for Christmas, ( actually after Christmas)it has been shipped and should be here soon. Will continue to shop @ Back Country, great prices, wonderful service, cannot say enough.

Great jacket but some drawbacks

I have three boys. They love this jacket, and I just bought another one because of the sale price. However, and this is very important, the jacket is certainly flammable material, and kids need to be reminded of that. My oldest son was hunting w/ his dad and extended family. He was standing in front of a space heater in an outdoor building they have. It literally burned a huge whole in the back of his jacket! We learned our lesson, and have encouraged all three to never stand w/ back to a space heater, especially in this jacket or any fleece jacket. We are lucky his clothes did not catch fire.

I bought this jacket in an S for my 6 year old son, about 41 inches and 40 lbs. It does fit him big but I had intentionally bought it this way. An XS fit him just about right however I thought the sleeves went a little short when he stretched his arms out so I went up in a size so that he can wear hoodies or such underneath. Also with the thought in mind that maybe next winter he can still wear it!!! Its a light-wieght coat but it seems like it will stand up well to the cold weather, and probably with an longsleeve underneath. Would recomend to anyone.

Awesome Jacket!

You would of thought my son had died and gone to heaven. I bought a Denali jacket at Christmas for my daughter. He really liked the way her's looked and felt, so naturally he had to have one too. I surprised him on his birthday in January with his very own jacket. He absolutely loves it and would wear it all the time if I would let him (come on give me a break, I do have to wash it some time). Rest assured, as my kids grow, I will definitely be buying them both new jackets! Thanks so much for such allowing me to provide you with a review.

An amazing jacket

My son was relentless ~ he wanted a North Face Denali jacket ~ we checked all the stores by our home and they were so expensive ~ when I found Altrec online and the amazing price I could not resist to buy it - my son wears his North Face everywhere! This has become his favorite jacket - Altrec.com was so easy to use - i ordered the jacket on a Friday and Monday it was delivered. This jacket is great for the in-between weather we are having and doubled with a hoodie there is no need for a winter coat. Thank you Altrec for the great price!

Denali Fleece Jacket

These jackets are great!!!! I have purchased 4 jackets. My son has a blue one I brought last Christmas and it has held up so good that I got him another one this Christmas(2007), because he wanted a black one. My daughter who is a junior in college has one and she loves her. I too have one and it's wonderful for all types of weather. Trust me when I say these are great jackets and worth your money. No matter have many times you wash them, they look like new when they come out of the dryer.

MY SON BEGGED ME FOR a DENALI, AFTER FINDING IT EVERYWHERE ELSE FOR OVER $100, I ORDERED TWO FROM ALTREC FOR $88. ONLY THING I RECOMMEND IS NOT TO DRY, IT WILL SHRINK AND IT'S TOO MUCH MONEY (Especially for a kid!) TO BE WASTED BY SHRINKING. IT CAN PILL ALSO, BUT IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT WASH IT AND HANG DRY, IT SHOULD BE FINE. IT's MY SON'S FAVORITE AND IT"S WARM. I ENDED UP ORDERING MYSELF A CHILDS XL!! NOW I REALIZE THE PHASE IN SCHOOL, IT"S NICE LOOKING, PRACTICAL AND WARM!

The coat is nice and warm which is great, however, the pockets both ripped very and the zipper on the pockets both broke. I love the style of the coat. Its not bulky and is very warm and I am happy w/ that. Just very dossappointed w/ the pockets tearing and the zippers. Its a kids coat I was hoping it would hold up better. would love to get her another one next winter just not sure w/ the pocket problem
