Positive Reviews:

I would buy this again.

Rating:****
I have twin boys in first grade. They are hard on shoes. Structurally, this is a solid shoe. It has held up well under 6 months of use. I had the same problem as the reviewer above with the stretch laces which frayed quickly. But the shoes also come with regular laces which work fine. (I eventually replaced the North Face laces with triathalon lace which continue to hold up just fine). The sole has held together well.

It is far better than a lot of the junk sold as kids shoes.

Negative Reviews:

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Save your money! I purchased these shoes for my 5 year old to wear to kindergarten and they lasted less 2 weeks before both lacing systems began to fray and come apart. About a week after that the rubber on the tips of both toes started to come unglued. A few weeks after that, I noticed the soles had began to wear at a rate I have never seen his shoes wear. I would consider that he was doing something to the shoes, but a pair of TNF trail running shoes that my 16 year old had over the summer only lasted 2 months before they had many of the same issues. I of course blamed that on the teenager...oooops, I was wrong, it was just a poorly constructed shoe just as these are. NO MORE TNF SHOES IN THIS FAMILY. Next time I will special order the XAs from Salomon.

Bought these for my 8 year old and they are falling apart in less than two months of normal use. The tread is pealing away, the top is shredding, and the tread is nearly worn away. Don't waste your money, [...]
