Cold Weather Protection

I bought these for riding in the winter. The fit is loose for a biking shoe, but big enough to accomodate a thick sock and toe warmers (two if necessary, top and bottom). I went riding in high 20 to low 30 degree temperatures this weekend with nothing but thick socks and toe warmers on TOP of my toes - no booties - and my feet stayed warm the whole time. The shoe does a decent job of blocking the wind, but I wasn't able to test their water resisting abilities. With two toe warmers and decent socks, I would think these shoes could handle temps in the mid to low twenties without needing booties. Not for everybody, but just what I was looking for.

I was actually trying to buy the X-Alp WRX. I got these accidentally, but when they came I decided to keep them. I wear them on my road bike commuting 5 miles to school and for road rides. Pros: very comfortable, SPD cleats work fine, very breathable, look pretty cool, pretty light. Cons: could be stiffer (but they are a MTB shoe), not at all waterproof (but relatively fast drying), feet get a little cold at night when it's cold out (very ventilated), would like them to be yellow instead of yellow-orangish (to match my bike). All in all a very good shoe that I am happy with and will wear until they're dead.

It's a really good shoe for what I need. I can go cycling for a few hours, then go straight to the pub for a couple cold ones. Or, I can bike down to the waterfront and walk around with no problem. They're stylish and comfortable to hang out in when I'm out on my bike. Size and width seemed true. Cycle-wise, they seem to do their job well, but this is my first pair of clipless so I really don't have anything to compare them to. They claim to be running shoes too, but I would not go for a jog in them.

This is great shoe for a nice sunday ride up the coast because you can walk around the little township once you get there without looking like a duck or as if you stepped off a spaceship. The shoe holds the cleat well and clicks in and out easily. The shoe isn\'t very stiff, so it\'s not well suited for hard rides or maximum power transfer. Harder rides gives my feet funny feelings (not pain, just funny) - so you should have a second pair of \'real\' bike shoes for those occasions. That said, I usually grab these for everyday cycling/commuting/rec rides.

Super comfy and great trail grip. Feel secure, but without a strap holding your foot down there is a tendency for your foot to move on the up peddle. Not really a big problem though.

It's hard for Bigfoot to find bike shoes. I wear a 12.5-13 and this shoe is more like a 12. If it actually fit, I would add a star for each category. Not too into the lacing. I don't really have a wide foot and if the lacing was slightly more forgiving I could possible wear them. I am disappointed that these don't fit otherwise I can tell that they would be a great shoe.
