Wear the Patagonia Women's Kamala Skirt as a bandeau-style dress one day, and as a skirt the next. How, you wonder? Well, the Kamala Skirt's doubled waistband creates a dress by tying behind your neck or around your bust. When you want to wear the Kamala as a skirt, the waistband ties snugly around your waist. The Kamala's length hits just below your knee when you sport it as a flowing skirt, and just above the knees when you're in a dress mood. Patagonia made this dress-skirt out of lightweight, organic cotton and Tencel fabric so you'll stay cool in the spring, summer, and fall.

I LOVE IT

Rating:*****

I went to Hawaii and took this skirt and it was what I wore for most of the time. It was nice enough to walk around in, wear as a cover up to the beach (it doubles as a dress), or wear out to dinner. The ties are fun and lend a lot of versatility. When converted to a dress it is a little short for my liking, but I didn't mind wearing it as a cover up. I plan on making this a staple of my wardrobe when traveling or just staying around town. The organic cotton is super soft and airy. I would love to buy another one, but there are none left in my size.

Cute summer skirt

Rating:*****
Just got the skirts in the mail - ordered the xs in plum and espresso color. The color is very pretty/vibrant. It fits fine as a skirt. However, I thought the material was very thin. Tried it on as a dress and I wouldn't wear it as a dress. I'm not big on top, but it didn't offer enough coverage! Unfortunately, I will be returning them to look for something thicker. If you don't mind the thin fabric, it's really cute!

Great skirt - good dress.

Rating:****
I love this as a skirt! Very comfortable and looks wonderful. I have been able to wear it throughout my pregnancy so far and am certain that I will be wearing it to the end. I agree with other reviewers that the material is a bit thin for wearing as a dress and the coverage on top can be a little less than desirable. However, I like it enough that I am thinking about ordering another in a different color.

love this

Rating:*****
i love this skirt so much, that i actually went back and bought a second one. i wear them pretty much every day, sometimes as a dress. they are so lightweight, comfortable and versatile. i may actually buy a 3rd in another color. only issues, so minor that it would never stop me from purchasing: gets stretched out pretty quickly and the pink one is a little see-through, so you have to remember to wear lighter underwear.

light weight and comfortable

I live in San Diego where it can be quite warm, great for a day after the beach or at the beach. The fabric feels nice on your skin and for me it is the perfect length. I agree with ordering a smaller size. If I didn't read the reviews, I would have ordered a med, glad I got the small. 5'4 135lbs

Best piece of clothing

Rating:*****
This makes an awesome dress and skirt. I bought a coffee colored one for a vacation and settled on a size too big (I'm a medium and I ordered a large, because it was all I could find). It was waaayyy too big. I still love it...I since ordered a plum medium and it is perfect!...I would definitely order to your size.

Beautiful when twirling...

Rating:*****
The skirt allows you to have the tie either in the front, back or even on the side. By simply changing the location of the tie allows for a different look every time you wear the skirt. The skirt also works as a dress that you could wear as a swimsuit cover-up (hint: twist the straps before tying behind the neck). :)

very versatile

I got this to throw over my swimsuit on vacation. The academic blue color is very pretty. Haven't worn it yet to see if it stretches out as the other reviewers said. I like the cut and how it can be worn as a dress or a skirt. If it works well, I might order another in brown.

Very Nice Skirt

Rating:*****

I got the kamala skirt in shell pink first, but had to send it back because it was see-through. The fit and style is perfect though, so I ordered one in espresso. This one is definitely a keeper! I love it! I usually wear a medium, and got a medium in this skirt, and it fits great.

regardless of chests

Rating:*****

I agree with Robin. I love this skirt!!! But the dress works well most of the time. The dress does look nice with by crossing the straps and the section that looks designated to cover the boobs just goes where it goes. I love it though!!! so easy to wear all the time for anything.

Not recommended for larger-chested women

Rating:***

Cool product, but as a dress it's not for larger-chested women. Guess I should have known that, but I was hoping this would be a comfortable item for the next few mos of my pregnancy. I was larger up-top before the baby, but now... forget it, there's no way the straps on this dress will be sufficient. So I'm returning it because I don't need it just for the skirt.

Cute, nice design but...SEE-THROUGH!!

Just got the Kamala in shell pink. It fits perfectly, it's really cute, but the fabric is too thin... This is surprising /disappointing since it is a Patagonia. I will return it and hopefully be able to get this skirt in a darker color, or get a refund.
