Oakley steps up the tech with its Men’s Extraction Jacket. A 15K-rated waterproof shell, fully taped seams, and fleece zip-in compatibility come together to protect you during epic days. Got the powder munchies? This ski shell’s watertight zippers and removable waist gaiter keep you bone dry during waist-deep turns, and the core venting system lets off steam after hikes and heart-pounding runs. The Extraction Jacket boasts ridiculous breathability for all-day non-clammy comfort, and Oakley added several super convenient pockets, including one on the sleeve and two for your iPod or camera.

Just got it in a week ago. so many compliments from everyone who has seen it. So nice. I love the fit! Pockets everywhere, I love the zip in/out pockets on the front of the coat with the pass holder, so convenient if you have a season pass! Gigantic goggle pocket inside that i use to carry a camcorder when filming. good water repellent, good venting. awesome green cactus color, sizing is as usual with oakley, larger so size down if you like a tight fit. If you are a freestyle or freeskier you'll likely love the fit. drawbacks are 3-1 capability but the cheapskates dont include a liner fleece so you gotta pay extra for the warmth...my suggestion, layer up and enjoy this jacket. it's beautiful.

OAKLEY EXTRACTION JACKET

Rating:****
LOVE THE COLOR ,TECHNICAL SPECS FOR WATER-PROOFING ETC, BUT BESIDES THAT JACKET SEEMS TO COME UP A LITTLE DIS-APPOINTING. I'M 6'2" 215LBS GOT THE X-LARGE AND IT'S BIG ENOUGH FOR A LARGE GORILLA TO PLAY IN. SIZING CHART WAS OFF.GO DOWN A SIZE.ZIPPERS ARE QUALITY BUT MINATURE SIZE,HARD TO START ZIPPING UP, A CHORE W/ GLOVES OFF.NEWS FLASH NEW SEASON PASS GUNS CAN'T SCAN THROUGH PLASTIC PASS WINDOW AT LEAST AT A-BASIN THEY DID'NT. PAIN IN DA BUTT,HAD TO WHIP IT OUT EACH RUN.LAST WAS LINER ORDEAL,WHICH DOES NOT COME W/ JACKET.CALLED OAKLEY SIMPLE FLEECE ZIP IN 2/3'S COST OF JACKET,NOT COOL.STILL LIKE MY OAK-TACTIC JACKET MORE, WHICH IS LESS BONES BETTER VALUE.

Negative Reviews:

A nice jacket, but too many magnets.

Rating:**
There is a lot to like about this jacket, but for me there were a few things that were deal killers. I think Oakley tried way too hard on this jacket. Cons: 1) Instead of velcro, this jacket uses a lot of rare earth magnets. And they are tough to work with. The front zipper storm flap is held by magnets and they don't like to let go. The pocket flaps are held by magnets and that makes me a bit nervous since I'll carry a camera and other gear in those pockets that may be sensitive to a magnetic field. Also, when you walk up to your car to put the key in the door the magnets in the pockets stick to the car door. Imagine if you are putting your skis or bike on the roof rack...Pretty infuriating. 2) the wrist gaiter is cumbersome. 3) the sleeves are very long. Not so bad in the body for layering and such, but the sleeves come down to the very tips of my fingers and when tightened around the wrist there is a lot of bunched fabric. 4) the zipper gauge isn't compatible with any of my inners that do zip into my other shells without any problem. (Patagonia, Red Level, Nike). 5) The zippers are spring loaded - I had to fumble with them. Pros: 1) high quality fabrics all around. 2) YKK zippers are of good quality...just an odd size. 3) Warm enough as-is for most winter activities without using a zip in fleece. As long as you are moving, you'd be warm. 4) Fabric isn't noisy 5) For the back country uses, it has built in Recco avalanche reflectors.
