| I just recently got these shoes and have not had a chance to put them through any difficult paces; however, there are a few points I can address about these shoes. First off, I found them to be comfortable right out of the box. My wife has purchased four separate types of Keen and I have a pair of the sandals. We have both found the brand to be extraordinarily comfortable, and we have markedly different foot type and motion. The Newport Trail WP is another fine example of the quality that Keen represents consistently in its footwear. The construction of this shoe is impressive. I like a utilitarian shoe and this particular shoe feels absolutely solid. The outsole of the shoe is rugged, and I love the toe protection typical of the brand. I will say the style seems to be a case of something you will either love or hate. I like this kind of look. It is substantial, has a look and feel of robustness, really giving an impression that these shoes are designed to withstand some punishment and last. My wife likes a "cuter" look. This is not that shoe. She's a big fan of Keens in general, but probably would not wear something like this. She has a pair of the Newport sandals which she loves, but these are definitely bulkier than the sandal version. So while I would say these are not the cute shoe, they are, in my opinion, a very utilitarian shoe that also happens to look good. Maybe handsome is a more appropriate term if we're thinking along the cute lines. The leather uppers are nice while still being functional. The design was a little different when Keen first came out with the sandal, but I like it and it seems to be prevalent nowadays. A quick side note: I will wear these for everything. So far, everyday use and not a single complaint. I can't vouch for the hiking aspect yet, but am confident they will be up to the task. Overall, outstanding shoe once again from Keen. | |

| Excellent shoe! Lots of toe room, comfortable and supportive. Looks great! Best for urban walking and light trail use. Higher cut than casual shoes, but low enough to cycle. Keen Dry lining makes feet warm and sweaty, but that's normal for waterproof footwear. Slick footbed is closed-cell foam, comfy but doesn't soak sweat up; will need frequent cleaning. I ordered my measured size, fit perfect. Only order a half size up if you have wide feet (E or EE) or high volume feet. Ideally fits low to medium volume feet well in measured size. Found it had surprisingly good arch support, much better than most; other reviewer claiming otherwise must have very high arches! Normally I use superfeet orange in my shoes, but don't need to in these. Great work Keen! But you should make a version without the waterproof lining that has the mesh, not just a sandal version. | |

| Good shoe - I also had no break in time - comfortable right out of the box. I love the toe protector & the strips of leather forming the top & sides which make for more flexibility & comfort. Almost nonexistent arch support though & the insufficient traction/grip was very disappointing. Consider leaving room for insole inserts. Also, plan on sweaty feet (waterproof=doesn't breathe) Good shoe probably not for the serious hiker but great for wet n cold weather & even a little snow! | |

| Keen Newport Trail WP - Purchased to use as a golf shoe because I am using Newport Trail sandals. Shoes are doing great in weather too cold for the sandals - much more comfortable than golf shoes and they grip the ground very well. Love them. | |

| Best hikers Ever! These are some of the most comfortable trail hiker I've ever worn. The shoe has great support and stability. There was NO break-in-time and I was able to wear them directly out of the box with no issues! | |

| Newport Trail WP - Sole is identical to Newport sandal, but the overall support is better. Interesting feature: the insole is also a closed foam type, not cloth like most other shoes like this. Good all around shoe. | |

| It has taken a few long wears to break in, but it is becoming very comfortable. You should order a half size larger than you normally wear. | |
