Positive Reviews:Nice comfortable casual shoes | | Rating: | | | These shoes have a little different styling than most. The heals seem a bit lower than the front of the foot and the laces run right down to the toes, but once on your foot and laced up, they fit like a glove and become a very comfortable casual shoe. While I have not yet worn them for an extended period of time (like all day) there is no indication that they would be anything but comfortable all day long. The workmanship and the quality of the materials are both very high and the shoes present themselves as durable and long lasting. I look forward to many miles with these on my feet. | | nhcstewart at Sierra Trading Post on 01/22/2010 | Stylish and comfortable | | Rating: | | | These shoes are great-looking and comfortable. I love KEENs in general. I have wide feet with high insteps and arches, and I have trouble finding good, comfortable, shoes in styles I like. Though KEENs are usually on the pricey side, you can't beat the prices on Sierra Trading Post. My only disappointment is that these shoes don't feature the super-soft molded footbed that's in many KEEN shoes. Those make it feel like you're walking on a cloud, and I was sad to find they are not included in the Jasper. Even so, these shoes are still more comfortable than most others I've worn. | | Jaime the Comfort Connoisseur at Sierra Trading Post on 10/27/2009 | Comfort for tired feet | | Rating: | | | These shoes fit me perfectly. I am on my feet all day.I walk miles doing my job and these shoes support my feet in all the right areas.Great arch support, great toe protection and women ask me what kind of shoes I'm wearing and say they look great. I like the look too, but go more for the comfort. My feet feel as happy at the end of my day as when I put the shoes on in the morning. | | John at Sierra Trading Post on 12/01/2009 | Almost barefoot...almost. | | Rating: | | | Very little sole between foot and ground, just the way I like it. Size 10 fits my 9 1/2 wide feet perfectly. They don't seem like they would hold up well even as light hikers, but around town they are great. Time will tell I guess. I have 2 pairs of Keens now, these along with a pair of Venice sandals and both fit me the same. Looks like Keen has won another loyal customer. | | ShortFatFeet at Sierra Trading Post on 09/11/2009 | Great, low sole, extremely comfortable ! | | Rating: | | | This is as comfortable a shoe as I've put on my feet in decades. It feels like you have nothing on your foot, in a good way. The sizing feels fine. Even though there are lots of laces these are easy to get into because of the lower profile. There's NOT a lot of cushioning, which I like and believe is better for my foot health. | | Billy Brout at Mountain Gear on 09/18/2009 | Just not quite......for me. | | Rating: | | | Based on length problems (short) from others, I opted to try a 13 on my 12 foot. Not bad, but the height & narrowness of the toe box made the material rub the tops of my toes. No doubt this one works well for many others, just not for me. Looks like it would last a good long time. Great price from STP too! | | golfer3524 at Sierra Trading Post on 05/20/2009 | jasper shoes | | Rating: | | | My walking is impaired by post polio syndrome. I can walk better in Jasper shoes than any other type of shoe. They provide customized fit, increased proprioceptive and neuro feedback, allow functional gait from the ankle. The jasper shoe wraps my foot, providing feedback, comfort, and enough support to facilitate my walking. My PT highly endorses these shoes for my use. | | petphd at Sierra Trading Post on 11/21/2009 | yet another great keen product | | Rating: | | | As always with Keen you have to pick a pair half size bigger that you'd normally wood. Overall shoes are great, except for a little stich, that I had to trim, so it wouldn't rub against my feet. Also, the sole is somewhat thinner than I expected so, by no means theese are hiking shoes. Perfect for casual/city wear, though | | Alex at Sierra Trading Post on 07/08/2009 | good buy | | Rating: | | | the shoe was a good buy with the additional 30 off, leather is very soft and comfortable. the only bad thing is that there is no arch support but can fixed by buying an insole with the support but have to get one size up. overall is a good buy at [$]. got 2 pairs. | | kelcands at Sierra Trading Post on 05/28/2009 | I have 2 pairs and want more! | | Rating: | | | I have a wide foot and this style is perfect for me. They do run small and I had to buy a 1/2 size larger...and would go a full size larger if I were going to wear them in really cold weather with very heavy socks. | | The Baker at Sierra Trading Post on 12/25/2009 |
| Negative Reviews:Not Up To Keen Standards | | Rating: | | | OK, I am a huge Keen fan. I have 8 pairs because I work on set 12-14 hours a day standing. The Metatomical footbed insoles that are in many Keens are not here, and that is the problem. The Jasper shoes are comfortable, for a while, but for long hours of wear, no way. In fairness, I don't think these shoes are meant to be as wearable for long hours as say, the Briggs or Bandons, or others with Metatomical footbeds. Buy these for style. Buy other Keens for long wearing comfort. Yay Keen! | | Geeseherder at Sierra Trading Post on 07/19/2009 | Not Quite | | Rating: | | | I'm a huge Keen fan. In fact, I have five or six pairs in my closet already. These just don't make the grade however. They looked cool online, but in person the gray is way too green, and the approach/climbing shoe lacing just looks awkward. The shoe also has virtually no support. Unfortunately, these are going back. | | MK1 at Sierra Trading Post on 10/08/2009 | Tight - and too many laces. Returned the | | Rating: | | | Did not keep the shoes. Neutral Reviews:Comfortable, but thin sole | | Rating: | | | I like the fact that with the full-length laces, the shoe can be adjusted for the whole foot. This makes it a very comfortable shoe. The only problem I have is that there is pretty much NO sole to speak of. The tread is about 1/16" and resembles a bald car tire. The slightest bit of moisture will have you slipping and sliding. This also makes it hard on your feet after walking around a bit. Even walking around the mall will leave your feet sore. I have found the best use for these shoes is wearing them to work, where I know I will be seated the majority of the time, or walking on carpet. Good shoe for the money at [$]. | | jg at Sierra Trading Post on 10/23/2009 | KEEN idea, Only fair execution | | Rating: | | | When I first tried this shoe on, I really liked the low, thin sole. It's very comfortable. After wearing it a week or so I noticed my right knee hurting, perhaps from my heels siiting lower than on my other shoes; I can't say for sure. The soles seem really positive on rocks, or until you're on a wet surface. Unlike other Vibram products, these soles and water are a bad combo. They are wholly inadequate on wet surfaces; very slippery! | | Bill Brout at Mountain Gear on 10/07/2009 | Too narrow for a Keen | | Rating: | | | My husband loves Keens. He has a wide foot, and they have always fit him well. When I opened the Jasper Shoes by Keen, I could tell the minute I opened them that they would be too narrow, and I was right. He couldn't get his foot in there, and they are a 10.5 which I always get him. I had to send them back. | | Shopper for husband at Sierra Trading Post on 09/14/2009 | Sittin' around shoe | | Rating: | | | Good-looking; almost a cross between a skate shoe and an approach shoe. Very soft uppers make it pretty comfortable, but lacks significant arch and footbed support to make me want to keep it. Might be good as a shoe to hang out in a hammock in, but won't carry you too far. | | Hyrax Mahout at Sierra Trading Post on 07/12/2009 | Nice looking and very comfortable | | Rating: | | | I just got them and they fit great right out of the box. Very comfortable. Not really sure how they will stand up in the durability department, but no loose threads or ungluing seams yet. | | rastaboy67 at Mountain Gear on 04/14/2009 | OK for Keen | | Rating: | | | they feel great when you put them on but I immediately noticed that they didn't have the usual Keen foot-bed w/ the arch support I've become accustomed to. | | sacto dave at Sierra Trading Post on 10/10/2009 | Great everyday shoe | | Rating: | | | I bought these as a birthday present for a friend and he wears them nearly every day at work.
