Still on the fence - I love Keens, I have 8 pairs of them, and was anxious to add Chamonix to my collection. Fortunately or unfortunately, I ended up with the Rum Raisin through an excellent deal. I had to hang onto them for a while deciding whether I should keep them because the colour is... yucky. I have Keen Timberline in Rum Raisin and it's a nice, rich chestnut brown. This one is better described as Port Wine. The velcro is a goofy idea, for sure, and am surprised Keen would have gone with that style, but whatever. They ARE very comfortable, however. Not sure how breathable they are as my feet feel somewhat clammy. I have a pair of Keen Stockholm that I've lived in the past winter and again this fall. I actually recommend that one over these as they are waterproof (breathable!!), stylish, and comfortable. Stockholms are warmer than these, too. I've decided to keep these, hoping the colour will get better with age.

Quite possibly the most comfortable purchase I've ever made - I bought these boots in anticipation of trips to San Francisco in the fall and England in November. They just arrived. As a few commenters mentioned, the boots are difficult to put on, but Sweet Mother of Gumby, once they're on they are The Most Comfortable Boots Ever Made In The History Of History. They have great arch support and I anticipate that I'll be able to walk all over both cities all day every day and never get tired. I hate that I can't wear them until then - July here in Houston is hardly the time or place for warm comfy boots! I generally wear an 8.5 or a 9 - I purchased a 9 just in case and they fit like a glove. If in doubt, order up. A truly wonderful boot.

I love these boots. I hope and pray that Keen will keep making these boots without changing the last because once mine wear out; I'll have to buy another pair! The velcro thing is ok, not the best, but the upside is that you can velcro them for a tighter fit or leave it unvelcroed for a looser fit depending on your mood. I needed to put superfeet in mine for more support. They're not full on warm winter boots, but they're still great for cold temperatures. The soles are thinner than others, which I really appreciate since I like to feel the ground a little more with my feet rather than feel as though I'm about to go backpacking with thick soles. Plenty of toe box room without feeling as though you're swimming. A very versatile shoe for skirts/pants with a nice height.

Like slippers - Really, these boots are like slippers. I've had them for one year, and they've broken in very nicely. I'm always amazed at how comfortable they are in comparison to other boots. In terms of warmth, they are great when worn with a thick pair of socks. They stay cool when you're indoors, though, which is nice. I live in Toronto, where they get a lot of exposure to snow and rain, and they've remained completely waterproof. One note in terms of winter weather--they hardly have any grip. I do occasionally slide around on ice in them. As far as winter boots go, they are very cute. Kind of elf-like in terms of the turned-up toe and stitching. My only complaint is that the strap on the back is a little strange-looking. Overall, a great winter boot.

Several purchasers mentioned problems with the velcro, the top of the boot rubbing your shin and sock eating. I thought these boots were so cute I just had to take the risk. Am I ever glad I did! These boots are great. When the velcro pieces are lined up and closed properly, there is no velcro showing that could catch on fabric. The boots were very comfortable and I wore them a full work day the first time I wore them with no rubbing anywhere. They did do a little sockeating the first day though. I have worn them several times since with different socks and have had no more problem with that. All in all, I highly recommend these boots. Stylish, comfortable, and warm... Great combo.

Want more colors - I was absolutely thrilled with my first experience with Zappos. I'd never heard the name and just happened to fall into the site. I continue to have nothing but praise for the company and their products. The boots are GORGEOUS! Neat, but not gaudy. I was shocked to order the boots and have them at my door the following morning! Never have I had such service. This last bit is partly my fault, but the color is not exactly what it looked like and that I wanted. However, that just makes me have to go out and buy some new slacks! WHEEEEEEEEE !!From a very happy camper, and new devoted Zappos customer.

Pretty good! Love 'em... wore them on a ski trip to Jackson Hole where I did tons of walking, and I wear them all over town at home. Ottawa got tons of snow this winter, and I was surprised at how well these held up. Great for walking, comfortable, warm, nice and sleek. My only complaint is the velcro closure... it's held up o.k. so far, but I whish they'd used something other than velcro (it can catch on tights and leave marks on the fabric... and it's a bit of a pain in general). Almost perfect!

Perfect boot for casual fall/winter - I have had and worn these boots for two days and I'm loving them. I love the sleek profile, and the velcro that bothers others is not bothering me at all. I think these are only going to get more comfortable with time! The sole doesn't feel exceptionally cushy, but I appreciate the lightweight quality of the boots and might even add my own insoles. Definitely order half-size larger than what you normally wear, as with all Keens.

Comfortable & stylish boots - I bought this boot in the army green color and I love it. I originally ordered the brown, but returned them because I didn't like the look of the brown leather and I have so many brown boots. These are so comfortable and warm and very cute to wear with skirts or pants. I wish they fit a bit closer to my leg, but I have thin legs so most boots are big on my legs.

Beautiful and really cool looking boots, comfortable too, and although I can see how the velcro could catch on to pants and be problematic that way it did not make it hard to get the boots on for me. The only problem is that they actually are true to size and only go to 11, I'm a 12. I really wanted them to work but the foot is too short for my long toes, sad sad to send them back.

How in the world??? These boots must be made for a doll! No joke. I have small feet and reasonably sized calves, but I could not for the life of me pull the front of the boot across to adhere to the velcro, thus leaving exposed velcro that would catch on my pants. It's really hard to explain, but I am surprised at the rather poor design Keen came up with on these. I would have thought a buckle would have been more substantial and convenient. These boots were also rather stiff, but then I didn't keep them long enough to break them in. Too bad because they look really cute and they were cozy on the inside.

I was disappointed in this boot. I own many pairs of Keens but these were just not as comfortable as the others. I ended up returning them and getting another style of boot that doesn't have velcro and they are so much more comfortable. The velcro closure is inconvenient and the seam around the heel area is what makes this boot slightly uncomfortable...they look cute, but I suggest investing your money in keen boots that have a side zip closure. Can't go wrong there. Also my ankles are pretty small and they still didn't really fit in the boot...they are a struggle to get on your feet.

Kinda disappointed - I live in snowy Boston and while I do tend to have cold feet, I think these boots are good for milder weather than a cold northeast winter. I don't like the velcro-it catches on everything and the boots are really hard to get on and off-I have to sit down and tug with both hands. They are, however, pretty comfortable and a good walking boot, except that they chafe at the top if I'm not wearing tall socks or tights.

Great except for seam at heel - This boot is great looking. I put them on to walk around the house to get a feel for them. I'm going to NYC soon and needed good shoes for my sensitive feet. They feel great in the footbed but the seam on the heel made me crazy, even with socks. If you aren't too sensitive in the heel you will love these.

Love Keen...but - The design of this shoe was not well thought out. You have to pull these boots on (not so easy) and they don't seem big enough around the calf so when the velcro is exposed it makes your pants stick to them. Good for walking but normally I would buy a couple pairs of Keen in different colors, not so much with this shoe. Sorry Keen!

Keen Chamonix Boot - Although some reviews suggest ordering a 1/2 size larger, I bought my usual size and found these shoes a 1/2 size too big. I also thought they were funny looking, like booties you would wear with a wetsuit. I returned them. Zappos sure provides excellent customer service, though.

I bought these boots and within a week of buying them the velcro pads started coming off. I had to return them. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
