Positive Reviews:Love These Keens! | | Rating: | | | These are really the cutest keens I have ever seen! I do have challenges with the sizing though. I have a pair of Newports in Women's 6 and they are fine because of the ankle strap. I also have a kids pair in a size 4 which fit virtually the same. I tried on a pair of the Bali's in a 6 and they were too big since they were slide ons. REI doesn't carry smaller than 6 in ladies which is how I found Altrec. I went for a 5.5 and they are fine but I think a 5 would have been a truer fit for me. The European sizing is probably the best guide now that I know they have it since I am a consistent 35. | | Amanda Meyer at Altrec Outlet on 06/25/2008 | Love them for many reasons, including plantar fascitis | | Rating: | | | I love my Keen Bali Sandals. I am getting a second pair. I have plantar fascitis and they are great with arch support and super comfortable to wear all day. They stay on easily too, they never seem to accidentally fall off. Another great thing is when they are wet, (pool, rain), they don't make sounds and squish around when I walk like other flip flops do. They also wash really well, I just put them in the sink with some soap or shampoo and scrub them with a brush, I have heard of people putting them in the washing machine successfully too. The fabric part on the top is very sturdy and does not pull or shred when washed at all, stays looking new and great! | | Ceilia at Altrec on 09/29/2009 | Comfy, cute, and practical | | Rating: | | | I wear these while I'm cooking (often for hours at a time - and 80% of my house is tiled), housework-ing, and "playing" in my hobby room, and I get ZERO leg fatigue! There was one day of adjustment, where my soles were a bit sore, but I have had that with my other Keens...it's usually because I pull them out in the spring after months of softening my soles in other, winter shoes. I wear these outside and then hose them off or throw them in the washer. I beat them up. I wear them while shopping and get compliments, in spite of it all. These shoes are great, and I love Keen's signature toe protector! Buy these shoes - You won't regret them! | | Yella-dan at Sierra Trading Post on 04/10/2008 | Kudos to Keen! | | Rating: | | This is also my second pair. My first pair is black. I love the color of these shoes. It says "summer." I don't have the greatest looking feet in the world. My feet are also big in relation to my size and flat. So these sandals offer me support and a way to have a open toe look without feeling embarrassed. Also, since they're waterproof, I can feel comfortable walking through puddles. The way these shoes are constructed, they will last longer than any flip flop out there. The service was also fast. They came within a few days after I ordered them which was in plenty of time for my trip to Florida. | | soxsista100147582 at Backcountry.com Outlet on 06/14/2008 | Very comfortable summer shoe | | Rating: | | I hope these are still available. I bought a pair two years ago and loved them. I wore one of them out and need another. I hadn't thought of looking online. I don't care for the flip flop style of shoes any more. I like the Bali because my toe fronts are
better protected and I don't jam things into my toes as much when I work in the garden. They don't look as clunky as Crocs which I have yet to try out although people say they feel great on.
Crossing my fingers I can still get a pair or two or Bali shoes.
Sharon B | | Sharon Beasley at Backcountry.com on 06/07/2009 | Awesome rugged flip flop | | Rating: | | The Bali's are a comfortable flip flop alternative with just enough added protection at the toes for those days when you are off the paved sidewalk and likely to run into misc. items found in nature...sticks, rocks, shells, tree roots and stumps, toys (!) etc.. Love that you can throw these in the washing machine to clean. Easy to walk around in, never needed to break them in, no blisters or stiffness. I live in the part of the country where Keen's aren't all that popular yet so I'm still getting used to the big toe look, but their pluses have me won over. | | Kenna at Backcountry.com Outlet on 03/27/2007 | Best sandals ! | | Rating: | | | These are my all time favourite shoe. I bought a pair 2 years ago and they were really too long for size, there were a lot of people saying this on review. The pair I bought this year definitely fit differently and are a half size smaller - now fitting true to size. These are bright attractive shoes, they are waterproof so I wear them in the river, beach etc and wash them under the tap ! My daughter and my mother also wear these - scary really ! I guess they suit all ages ! | | Tilleybean at Sierra Trading Post on 10/06/2009 | My feet love Keen! | | Rating: | | | I have the type of feet that hate shoes. There is always some part of my feet that hurt when wearing shoes. I bought a pair of Keen flip flops a couple of years ago and they fit better than slippers (they don't slip off my feet). You can wear them all year long. I purchased another pair last year in a different color. I had foot surgery this year and wore them out in the snow with a pair of wool socks and did not slip once. This year I'm purchasing 2 pair (great colors). | | Stacie, White Marsh MD at Altrec on 03/10/2009 | I love my Keens | | Rating: | | | That's plural because I own 9 pairs of the Bali sandal in many colors. I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and wear daily even to work. MANY females have complimented me on my Keens. I also travel to Europe every summer for a few weeks and wear them as my primary shoe. They never make my feet smell. They're incredibly comfortable. I bought my first pair at Comfortable Walking Shoes but after one year, they never carried this style so eventually I found them on the Internet. Wish they were only $45 instead of $60. | | mary ann hartwell at Altrec on 06/03/2009 | Very cute, comfortable, secure. | | Rating: | | | These are much cuter than I anticipated. They don't breath super well (they aren't flip flops and feel that way) but I have to say I often go to them when I want sandals and may want to move faster than a walk. :) They are very secure and I wear them more than I though I would. Look cute with shorts, some skirts, and jeans. If you like the traditional water shoe keens (e.g. H2 Newport) you will love these. I think they will be great for longer walks and light hikes as well. | | Sam at Sierra Trading Post on 04/26/2008 |
| Negative Reviews:Disappointed! | | Rating: | | I ordered these because they are so pretty and had great reviews...unfortunatly I am very disappointed and have had to return them. The fit was wrong. The right sandal was so tight across the top of the foot that I had trouble getting my foot in all the way to the correct position. The left was tight too, but not as bad. This maybe was some kind of manufacturing defect or fluke? Who knows? But they didn't work for me. I always wear the same size shoes, sneakers or sandals, so I don't believe it's just my feet. I had my friend who wears a 9 1/2 try them and they were tight on her as well. On the plus side the color was beautiful (I ordered the rosy color) and they felt so light weight. I wish they would've worked for me! | | sav3010493 at Backcountry.com Outlet on 04/21/2009 | Keen Bali only on Bali | | Rating: | | I love Keen and everything about Keen. I own a "later" model of these sandals in a kiwi green however they are flip-flop type. So when in the water on rocks or walking down the street to the market they are NOT a slide, you can keep them on. However, these ARE a slide. And the width of the straps does not secure your foot into the shoes. I sent them back. If they had the little toe grip, they'd be perfect. I love ya Keen but I can't lounge on Bali wearing your Bali's--I gotta move around! | | crath202244318 at Backcountry.com Outlet on 07/03/2008 | Not For Me | | Rating: | | These sandals are very pretty and quite cushy. However, I can't wear them because the straps are a bit too tight across the top of my instep and they are not adjustable, and the texture on the insole is very rough and irritates the soles of my feet. If you have slim feet, go for it, these sandals would probably be great for you. If you have hobbit feet like me, think twice before buying. | | jgarant3100148580 at Backcountry.com Outlet on 06/15/2008 | Not impressed | | Rating: | | My friend Donna loves her Bali sandals. I thought they were cute, so I ordered a pair. But when they arrived I was disappointed. They didn't seem much better than a pair of flip-flops. Donna thought they ran a little small, but I think just the opposite. I ordered a half size smaller than I usually wear, but they were still too big. Maybe if they'd fit better I would've liked them better. | | Khumbu Trekker at Backcountry.com Outlet on 06/16/2008 | Too bad.... | | Rating: | | Great shoes - too bad they come only in a choice two solid colors: black & turquoise??
And the lighter colored soles on the flowered version get dirty too fast!! I wouldn't bother ordering those! | | Heather Stevning at Backcountry.com on 05/28/2009 | Crazy toe fit | | Rating: | | | I love keen shoes for their fit especially in the toe box. These are the first exception to that. My 4th toe wants to stick out in a crazy manner which make them very uncomfortable. | | Merry snow shine at Sierra Trading Post on 10/23/2009 |
