This bag is larger than I thought it would be. Which is nice to hold all my books and stuff. Also on my monitor it looked more of a red color (I ordered bossa nova/dark gull gray) but when I received it, it was more of a rust orange (which I like better). This bag has a front organizer for pens and pockets, which are made of a neoprene material, which is cool. The interior is light in color which makes it easy to find things inside. The laptop sleeve is lined with a soft material and is sort of suspended of the bottom of the bag so your laptop does not get damaged. It also has a key hook inside the mesh organizer pocket. Love the pockets on either side for water bottle, sunglasses, etc also the cell phone pocket on the strap. Love the "airline seatbelt adjuster" on the strap. Over all it is a great bag very sturdy-will probably last my years through college and road trips with the laptop. I have recently found Zappos and have ordered two pair of Keen sandals, a pair of pants and this bag. Every order was upgraded to next day shipping free of charge and arrived in great shape. I highly recommend Zappos!!!!

Love it with one reservation - This is a great bag. It holds my laptop and all my other stuff. The magnetic closure is really strong, which is great. I love the cell phone pocket on the strap and the zip pocket in the front is great for keeping my wallet. I also like the size - I am 5'2" and don't want to be overwhelmed by a big bag. It is light and easy to carry - the strap is very comfortable. My only complaint is the inside zipper, which is u-shaped, instead of straight. It is impossible to zip and unzip while it is on your shoulder. You have to take it off and put it down to zip or unzip it. I wouldn't take my laptop out while it is still on my shoulder, but it is a hassle to have to take it off to get anything in the inner compartment out. That's why I keep most of my important stuff, like my wallet, in the front compartment, which is more accessible. But overall, a great bag.

Perfect - I wanted a smaller gym bag, because I'm a petite person and tend to carry only the essentials. I can't believe how much lighter it is than my old duffel gym bag. The side pockets work great to store my lock and MP3 player or if I want to bring along a bottle of water. I keep my gym card handy in the front organizer. I store my clothes in 1/2 of the lap top section with the other 1/2 being used to hold toiletries. My shoes stand up well in the front section. And if there are any new schedules at the gym, I just slip the paper into the back zippered pocket. This bag would also work great to hold your notebook. If you like things simple and organized, you'll love this bag. I do.

Caution this bag is extremely spacious!

This is a great bag. This bag is extremely spacious and holds a lot of stuff. I tend to load it down so sometimes it's heavy, to heavy to carry but I'm a pack rat. It's kind of hard to open but it will deter a thief, I don't need to worry about my wallet or anything else being stolen or falling out. There have been times when I have forgotten to zip the front pocket where I keep my wallet, loose papers, bank card, check book, etc and the amazing thing is that nothing fell out of the pocket because the bag also has a magnetic flap. The shoulder strap is comfortable I would have preferred it in black but it's still a keeper.

This bag is fantastic! It holds everything I need in a day: my laptop, files, a book, bottle of water, brown bag lunch/snacks, and a jacket, plus the usual wallet, cellphone, sunglasses, etc. It\'s not too big to be unwieldy on the train or while walking around and the strap has some padding on it so that it doesn\'t feel as heavy as it really is! I also love the rubber bottom because it keeps the bag and its contents protected from water, snow, or dirt on the ground. The bag material handles well in all weather conditions. Great bag overall, highly recommended!

Comfort Supreme - I agree with the other positive reviews of this bag that I had read before purchase. Now that I have used the bag for a month, what stands out to me is that in addition to convenience of many sorts, this one is supremely comfortable. Maybe it's the cut of the strap, but whether worn straight from one shoulder, or over the head and across the chest, this is a supremely comfortable body-fitting bag, even with my Mac and books weighing it down. I've had many bags in my 50-years plus, but this is the best. Mark T Princeton, NJ

Versatile and of great utility - I got both of my college age kids the Keen Alameda 15 for Christmas. They both loved it and now use theirs daily. I use the Keen 26 bag for my briefcase and computer case as I travel lots and it fits under plane seats and wears so well. The Alameda looks more “college-y” with the shoulder strap, etc. They can carry computers, books, and in the case of my daughter... everything that would go in a purse. A very versatile and extremely well made bag.

Perfect size for my 5'3" wife. This Keen bag is great, fits my wife's 15.4" MacBook Pro perfectly, was a great size for her body size (petite), and has ample room for a couple of binders/books. I ordered this yesterday at 4pm, it arrived the next day, great Zappos overnight service, and Zappos also honored their price protection policy. You can't beat Zappos customer service! Thanks again!

Keen Alameda Bag - I purchased this bag for traveling to store items in on the airplane. The bag is really nice; however, it is a little to big for my 4 foot 2 inch frame and did not end up using on the trip. I believe I am going to return and get a smaller bag such as the Brooklyn.

Great product - Very functional and comfortable. The actual color is a little darker than on the photo – closer to olive/khaki. I wish the cell phone pocket was at the other end of the strap, but that should be easy to access for people who wear the bag on the other shoulder.

We bought this bag in anticipation of a four week overseas trip. Unfortunately, the strap failed within 24 hours of the bag's first use. Naturally, the failure occurred just as we were deplaning after a 16 hour flight. Not a pretty sight. The strap is made of two materials: a padded nylon portion that is attached to a nylon webbing portion. The attachment of the two materials failed. Upon inspection, it appears that the two materials were joined by nothing more than glue. Stay away from this bag - far, far away.

Strap failed within 24 hours

The strap on this bag is enough reason to return it. Very uncomfortable. The zipper pull on the back broke off before I even left the store. I liked the magnetic latch on the front, but that is it. The cell phone pocket is on the wrong side for a right handed person and isn't adjustable. And the velcro part for that was already coming off. I had the bag for a week and couldn't wait to get back to town to return it.

Poor Quality Construction and Materials

The shoulder strap is stitched together in the middle. The stitching began to pull apart after just a few weeks of use and was about 25% unraveled when I returned it. Other stitching where the strap attaches to the bag began to disintegrate as well. I replaced it with a Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 Large with a lifetime warranty.

Although it's the perfect size bag for short girls (I'm 5'2"), my cell phone keeps falling out of the cell pocket on the strap and the bag has a really weird U-shaped zipper that makes it difficult to open while you're wearing it. I have to take the bag off my shoulder and put it down to open it. But at least it has a zipper, which a lot of other lap top courier bags seem to lack.

Great bag, but the magnetic connection point is a concern for me. I may be a little paranoid, but I don't want magnets anywhere near my hard drive, so I cut the magnets out :-) A "hooks and loops" connection point would be an improvement!
