This is very(!) cool

Rating:****
I'm an architect and notoriously aesthetically picky and I'm tellin' you this is cool looking. I'm also very long armed(37" sleeve in dress shirts) and the sleeves are long even on me. If you're not big around in the chest get the next size smaller unless you intend to possibly wear something bulky underneath. The black color is a sort of patchy grey, so look carefully at the photo. You have to zoom way in to really get an idea of what it looks like. I've had good experiences with Columbia products in general thus far and this is the coolest thing I've gotten. This is well made, we'll see how well it wears. Very happy with this item for what I spent.

Excellent jacket

Item was better than expected. More than enough pockets, very light weight, warm and stylish. As stated above, the problem is with the sleeve openings, there is no adjustment straps or the elastic is very loose to keep the cold out. Problem solved by putting hands in the lined pockets to keep extra warm.

The sleeves are too big!

Rating:***
I bought it for a raincoat in Hawaii and also on the PCT in the summer. I had heard that Columbia Sportswear had sized all their jackets one size larger to please the fatties. I should have paid attention! By rolling the sleeves up, this jacket is fine, and it will be useful in rainstorms to have my hands dry, but it kind of takes away from the aristocrat image.

Heavy duty

Would be a sweeet jacket based on materials (between a shell and a full jacket), but had ugly speckled coloring (not just black, black plus white specks) and giant weird pockets on the front which tended to puff out and look weirder.

A good jacket for the fall season

I would recommend this jacket. However, I returned the jacket for another product
