What a great pant...if it fit

Rating:****
Initial impressions on design and quality were over all good. Seems well constructed, very light and breathable (key here in the desert SW) and stealthy enough to potentially substitute for khakis while traveling. DWR is a nice add-on, but haven't had the chance to "test" it yet. The waist band has a smooth profile with no pressure points, or spots that would seem prone to chafing under a hipbelt. My one gripe is that the waist was about an inch/inch-and-a-half larger than any other 32" waisted pant I have, fitting much closer to a 34" than 32" (exactly like a 34"). In fact I'm still not entirely convinced that I didn't get a 34" that was mis-tagged as a 32". Tacked the waistband in at the sides to fit, but kind of annoying to have to tailor new pants immediately upon receipt. Thinking this might have been a fluke, but Cloudveil has always seemed remarkably solid in their product consistency so who knows.

A little constricting

Rating:****
I liked these pants, they were almost exactly what I was looking for for outdoor gear. Material and quality was good (very light and thin, good for warm weather camping/hiking). Ultimately they were too constricting on my movement, however. Not sure if the ones I recieved were just cut oddly, but I had to return them. They were very long too and I would have had to get them hemmed, but I knew that when I bought them.

Great

Rating:*****
These pants are great for intense sun and hot, dry areas. They also make great general hiking and backpacking pants. I was surprised at how windproof the pants are. I guess depending on the situation this is a pro or con, but it's something to be aware of. (That's not to say they don't vent well or are hot, they're just very wind-proof.)

Good Summer Pants

Rating:****
My husband loves these pants, wears it all the time especially when it's hot out. Pants are great, lightweight and VERY comfortable. The length is perfect for guys with long legs. One thing he noticed was the velcro strip on the rear pockets could be longer so that stuff doesn't fall out all the time; perhaps Cloudveil can add a secure pocket.

Lighter than air!

Rating:*****
These are the coolest (literally) pants that I own. I live in FL and routinely use these, even in the hot hot summer. I wish they were in more than one color in my size! I would tell you that I moved up a size based on reviews here and that worked perfect. Keep in mind they run a little small.

Great travel/work/play pants!

Rating:*****
These pants are GREAT! They're soft yet durable, they pack extremely well & fit great... very comfortable. ONE COMPLAINT!!!!!!!!!: The belt loop spacing on the front loops is too far apart! Seems like a minor detail but if you wear a belt with them it tends to either hang down or ride up!

Don't be an Ultra-Tool, wear Ultra-cool

Rating:*****
These pants are pretty sick. Went on an 8 mile loop in the north GA mountains last weekend which included some creek crossing, a little scrambling, and moderate/strenuous hiking. These bad boys dry very fast and do not add weight after immersion. Very comfortable; looks good; best pants ever for hiking...Cloudveil rocks!!

Very light & comfy

Rating:****
Very nice, comfortably pants. Only thing keeping from a 5-star is they are a bit long, and will have to be hemmed. For hot, humid days, these are PERFECT! They look clean and nice enough that I can get away with wearing them to a fancy Sunday brunch...

Top quality at a very low price!

Rating:*****
I purchased five pairs and couldn't be more pleased. The material and quality of workmanship more than exceeded my expections and all for an unbelieveable price. Be aware however, that these pants are sold by waist size, with a simple hemmed length, which for many will require shortening.

Lightweight and comfortable

Rating:*****
Bought these pants as I travel internationally. They are lightweight and very comfortable to wear. Will be able to use them on hikes and a variety of other outdoor activities. Plus, they are stylish so you can wear them out in the evenings.

Negative Reviews:

Needs Belt Loops

Rating:**
Belt loop placement allows pants to drop away from belt. These pants did not pass the test because of the lack of belt loops.

Too short! Was advertised as 34" inseam

Rating:*
I need tall or Xlong pants - 35" inseam would be perfect. Almost impossible to find.

Not bad for the price

Rating:***
Just a baggy enough for my slim frame that I have to wear a belt. Back pocket secures with a bit of velcro, and I'd much prefer a zipper or at least a flap and velcro. Otherwise, they're worth the [$] I paid.

sizing not accurate

Rating:***
The 32 waist pant was not 34 in length as advertised. The 34 waist pant was a good length but seemed much bigger than 34 in waist. Seemed like good pants but didn't fit me so I gave them away.
