Killer Value! | |

| I'm consistently impressed with the quality of my cloudveil schwag, which is almost always a good bit cheaper than equivalent gear. Compared to my North Face Thunder Jacket, I get the same lightweight, highly packable warmth, but also get fleecy hand pockets, a touch of fleece on the collar where the jacket hits my chin, and a bit more tear resistant fabric (I have lots of tear holes in my Thunder jacket and the fabric sometimes gets caught in the zipper, but the down doesn't seem to leak too badly). The Thunder has more baffles, but the overall baffling design of the Cloudveil is more flattering - time will tell how the down settles out in the larger baffles. Both fit about the same, but I do miss the geniously designed hem drawstring on the Thunder, which the Cloudveil jacket lacks. The Thunder also packs down a little bit smaller, and feels a gram or two lighter for those "every gram counts" types. But the clincher, only one unobtrusive Cloudveil Logo, rather than the billboard that is any article of North Face clothing. I use these light down jackets a lot for all manner of misadventures from backcountry and lift-accessed snowboarding, to summer backpacking, to early morning coffee shop runs. Combined with a waterproof shell and first layer fleece, they make layering a cinch, and also look pretty dang good on their own because they tend to be fitted. The Patagonia down sweater never fit me well, though it would be perfect for dwarves wishing to smuggle firearms in their armpits. Can't speak to the new Mountain Hardware Nitrous, but it looks rather sexy. | |

Just got this a few days ago and i'm in love with it. I live in Telluride and this is going to be a go to piece. Great for wearing around town - warmth without bulk. But will also be great layer under my Shell on really cold days. Even tho it's a puffy the stitching is feminine and I've already had loads of compliments from friends on the flattering cut and the great Red color. I wondered if I needed a hood, but the collar comes up to a good height and will make it easier to layer. A bonus is the recycled fabric (although I did recycle my old puffy too to justify my purchase!)

Lightweight, nice lines, but not sure yet

| It is extremely lightweight and thin. Doesn't feel like there's any down in it. I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs. and got the small. If it was offered in an XS I would have considered it. Bodice fit nicely and was sliming, partly due to the seams/lines and partly due to the overall cut. The only thing I'm not sure about is the upper arms, they are very wide/large and look poofy. I'm hanging it up for a bit to see if the material settles and the arms look more natural. The fabric is a between shiny and matte, it's interesting. | |

I love this jacket! Low profile, fits great! I have the color "depth," which is a beautiful dark inky color. The pockets are sewn down so they don't pull out when you are grabbing something with mittens on. I also love the inside mesh pocket. I wear a medium in most jackets and this medium feels true to size. Patagonia mediums seem to have gotten larger to me. This is my second Cloudveil jacket. I am a huge fan!

Super Warm! | |

This coat is awesome. I wear it every day. It is great for shovelling the snow when the temps are below zero and a must have to stuff in my back pack while I'm skiing: low pro enough to wear underneath a shell and warm enough to wear by itself.

| This jacket is lightweight and warm! Beautiful red color. I love it! It fits a little tight in the chest, but otherwise is perfect! Would recommend it! | |

| This is a great lightweight jacket for x-country skiing, snowshoeing or around town. It would be perfect under a shell for weatherproofing. | |
