Totally Stoked..... you will be

Used a set of Cartels last season 2008/09 on my Never Summer legacy 163 wide all mountain board. Loved them, bought a Nitro team twin tip 159 board this year (for hardpack and crud days to play around) and couldnt decide on bindings...searched and searched..even bought a pair of Ride Contrabands and ended up selling those to buy my second set of catels. The foot bed is awesome. The most noticable and my favorite feature is the canted foot pad. I ride with Salomon Synapse size 12 boots that are also the best fitting boot and work great in these bindings. The trim piece on the sides where the strap mounts are weak and come loose/bend easily but does not affect perfromance and doesnt bother me at all. I ride in northwest washington and B.C. Canada about 50 times a season and these have held up with about 30 rides on one set and 3 on the new set so far. Awesome bindings

Sick high backs!

Rating:*****

I was a little bit skeptical of these cause I'm not used to high backs but I'm glad I got them. I love them! Just like everyone else is saying, they are very light, don't pinch your feet, responsive and lots of support.

I'd also recommend getting them in purple if you can fit them. I get so many good remarks about them on the hill. Like a weird amount. Talk about an ego boost!

If I were to say only one thing I don't like about them, is that they can be a little bit of a pain to put on if you have big feet (I'm talking 12" or larger) even with a large set. Not a big deal though. Oh and also if you have a smaller board bag you might have a hard time fitting it in due to the high backs; that should be expected though.

Buy them!

Amazing Adjustability

Rating:*****

I really love these bindings because they're so customizable. You can adjust almost every part to fit any stance.

The biggest plus for me is the Skyback, and the fact that you can adjust the forward lean to a sharper angle than most other bindings. Since I'm 6' 2" I really need to crouch to get in a stable stance. The bigger highback at a sharper angle gives me a more responsive ride, and quicker edge-to-edge transitions. Putting the capstrap over my toe lets me crank my boot back into the heel cup and holds everything tight.

They've held up well for more than a full season now. There's some wear on the fabric, and some of the baseplate padding is starting to rub off, but I expect that. Overall, I'm really happy with these bindings and plan on buying them again when I get a new board.

Last winter I cracked the highback on one of my old Drake Supersports and had to replace them. I ended up going with the Cartel and I can't believe how much better binding technology has gotten in the last five years!

The Cartel is pretty lightweight because of the composite construction, and very comfortable straps with plenty of padding. The toe cap strap is good and definitely reduces that squeezing discomfort that sometimes happens with the over-arch strap. Note: if you have an older boot, it might not fit very well. I had a tough time adjusting for my old 32 TM2s.

The best part about this binding is that pretty much every piece of it is adjustable by hand - the highback is super adjustable - which means you don't need to carry a screwdriver or multi-tool.

All the binding you need

Rating:*****
I've been riding the Cartels and other Burton bindings for the past 10 years or so. The 10 years before that I just didn't know any better.

You can't beat the feel and versatility of this binding for the price, especially compared to other Burton bindings. The Cartels shred everything, and I never have to worry about them. I think there is a reason why Burton rarely does a drastic makeover of this binding. If it ain't broke....

Adjustable, Excellent control, Awesome comfort

Rating:*****
I have used a few bindings such as Flows, Lamar , K2 cinch. I always had numbness in my feet, these bindings are so comfortable even when cranked down so hard your foot cant even wiggle you get no numbness. They are easily adjustable and the control I get from these bindings is unlike any binding I have ever tried, my board does what I command it to when I command it to.

Solid.

Rating:*****

Great binder. Really solid performance for all mountain freestyle. I wanted something stiffer than my old bindings that would perform all over, so I took a leap and bought these. Best choice ever. They deliver in every manner possible, but do cause a little calf bite, which actually seems normal as they have the highest back I've ever ridden, but once you're used to it your stance adapts so no more bite!

Strap Yourself into a Cloud

Rating:*****

Best bindings I've bought. Everything about them is perfect. The toe strap keeps your boot in place and the ankle strap feels like its stuffed with down. Its padded practically everywhere on the binding and the accents of diamond plate on the black version is sick. I got the 2008 style and love it. You don't have to buy the most expensive bindings to get the right choice.

If there were more than five stars on this thing i'd give them all to the cartels, from big peaks to park these things jam! I've ridden two different sets now and i'll never go back, the high back is high enough to cut as sharp as you want, but you can still get your tweak on! Buy these
