Who really likes to pack a pack to the pipe? Burton's Cargo Pant has the capacity you need to take most small essentials with you up the mountain. Like many of Burton's high-end snowboarding pants, the Burton Cargo Pant features plenty of waterproof and breathable Storm-Lite® fabric protection with complete taping on all seams for uniform durability and weather protection. Granted, this version of Storm-Lite® is classified as 3.0-E, so it's not exactly as breathable as the A-grade stuff that you usually find on top-shelf Burton jackets--but that's okay because the Cargo has adjustable vents. Along the inseam you'll find zippered thigh vents for extra cooling while you're in motion, but unlike the snowboarding pants made for the cheap seats, these have breathable mesh linings that help wick away moisture while keeping excess spindrift and ice shavings out of your pants. The internal waist adjustment is great for modifying the fit over a variety of layers, especially if you ride from the coldest days of the season all the way to the last run before summer.

Features:

  • Bellowed cargo pockets expand for adding extra goods
  • Breathable mesh lining
  • Convenient Pass Pocket for quick flashing before boarding lift
  • Internal waist adjustment for modifying fit over varied layers
  • Microfleece lining along hand pockets, waistband and zippered fly
  • Oversized cargo pockets
  • Stretch boot gaiter
  • Waterproof and breathable Storm-Lite 3.0-E fabric with a fully taped construction for optimal weather protection
  • Zippered inner thigh vents have mesh linings

Im Not a Burton Fan But I Still Give These a Stellar Rating

Rating:*****

Although I have found that alot of Burton stuff seems to be loosing quality, these pants are not that way. I love them. I am a 34"w x 30/32" in jeans and the L fit me perfectly. On the bottom of these are little buttons you can use to keep you from tearing the hell out of the heels while you walk around in the resort parking lot which is really nice. Also, the material is very thick and has a fabric texture so it doesnt look more like a tarp than a piece of cloth. Not mentioned is that the left cargo pocket has a flap over the pocket revealing a clear pass pocket which was handy for my season pass. 10k waterproofing is standaed - not great - but I have done some spring riding in these hiking the park and sitting on my ass recovering after I eat it on a rail and have never had a problem feeling wet at all. Not insulated - but thick enough fabric I have used them all season long with nothing but shorts on underneath. Also reasonable price considering the colors available. Also the "slim" fit Dogfunk put in their Tech Specs is bologna. They fit like normal snowbard pants maybe even a little looser in my thigh area then my Foursquares. These are not Tech Nine pants, but DONT WORRY if you are not into the bell bottom look I see in some videos.

Stylin'

Rating:*****

I purchased these pants in early November and have been using them since. The waterproofing on these pants is awsome and will keep you dry in most weather conditions. One really cool thing not mentioned about these pants is that the bottom of the pants can be rolled up and secured with a button so they don't get scuffed up in the parking lot. These pants have fairly large pockets(two of them being lined with fleece.) Adjustable waist band really comes in handy when you don't have the luxury of a belt. Even thought these pants aren't insulated they're still pretty warm, most likely due to the mess lining. These pants are a little baggy but I guess that just adds to the style and in that case, these pants have a lot of it.

Get's the Job Done

Rating:****

I have used these pants 3 times in the last month. All times were really good conditions so it didn't really test the waterproofing, but that said didn't feel a bit of wetness anywhere. No insulation can be a drag if it's really cold outside, you'll have to put on a few layers, but works well in the high 20's and 30's. Definitely go with the smaller size if you're in between two sizes. Good Pants! Certainly get the job done

awesome pants

Rating:*****

I bought these pants a year ago. best pants ive ever owned, i could prob go swimming in them and stay dry, and if you get a little heated up, zip the vents down the legs down and stay cool. i think they are pretty loose fitting pants, kinda baggy, but im shorter so that could be y.

Excellent Product

I wore these pants for the first time and they performed great! If you want more room, go with a larger size. 6 days of riding in Austria and never once got wet. They did the job!. I plan to buy another pair.

Used these pants over the weekend in blizzard conditions. The pants kept me warm and dry. Also the zip inside the pants the attached it to the Burton coats assure you don't get any snow inside.

Bought these from Altrec a couple weeks ago and they are great. Fit perfectly without being overly baggy or snug. Can't wait to hit the Basin with them this weekend.

Negative Reviews:

you can do better...

Rating:**

i've ridden a couple of different burton cargos from different years and they've pretty much stayed the same for years... little to no innovation from an overpriced burton product seems to be the norm... i'm not a burton hater as i ride some of their first layer, socks, boots, and bindings, but in terms of outerwear you can definitely get more bang for your buck if you go with another brand (volcom, holden, 686, L1, bonfire, ride all have similarly priced pants with better materials, craftsmanship, and more creative styles)... you're pretty much getting a little less than you pay for here... nothing special at all and as always, burton pants feel like cardboard unless you really jump up in price to their higher end stuff... as i stated, you can get way better materials that feel like street clothing if you go to a company like volcom or holden (or any of the others i mentioned)... the burton cargos are relatively reliable but seem to break down quick from wear... this pant seems to be the go-to pant for someone graduating from pants they had previously bought at Sports Authority. again, you can do better...

ripped on my first time out

Rating:*
split right on my knee with i took a little spill on my first time out this season. The material is too thin and should be "2 ply" in the knees and rear end if you ask me. Too much money wasted on a pant that is already ruined.

Okay pants

Rating:***

These pants are okay. They're fairly loose fitting, but not super baggy and there's two cargo pockets, two side pockets, two back pockets, and thigh vents. The inside has a mesh lining, and the side pockets are fleecy so they keep your hands warm if you're waiting outside. The shell material/coating is decently waterproof, but if you're sitting in slushy snow for most of the day or if it's raining, you'll probably get a little damp. Otherwise, it'll keep you dry on days when it's not extremely wet. There's even a little slit in one of the pockets to let your headphone cable come out from the layer below. One word of warning: I usually wear size 32 street pants, and I purchased these pants in medium because the listed size range was 32-34, but I would say the waist is much larger than expected. If you're on the border between two sizes, get the smaller size.
