You can never be too prepared, and with the Arsenal Shovel with Companion Blade from Backcountry Access, you have a sturdy shovel ideal for building snowcaves and either an avalanche probe or snow / wood saw integrated into the shovel shaft. With the probe or saw stored in the shaft, weight and space are saved, and you have quick access to the probe or saw in the event of companion rescue. F09 f09 avy

Once deployed, the shovel is still fully functional: the shaft does not have to be removed from the blade and the grip is still intract. Availible in the two fixed-length versions
