Positive Reviews:Great for the money | | Rating: | | | Look, for the money, you won't find anything better. This is a great tent that is lightweight, fits in my pack nicely and is easy to set up. If you really HAVE to, you can squeeze two people in it but I wouldn't recomend it. I've done this twice, once with my wife and once with my idiot friend who forgot his own tent on a trip and didn't realize it until we got to the top of the mountain. It's not the worlds greatest tent, but it does exactly what it's supposed to. I've never been caught it in the rain with it, so I can't say how it will hold up in a wet situation. If you buy it and it ends up not being what you were looking for, just remember what you paid for it. It's a hell of a deal and I've taken it camping countless times without a single negative incident. Great tent. | | Eric at Sports Authority on 10/05/2009 | Great for Backpacking | | Rating: | | | I am a Boy Scout leader and I have 3 of these tents. 1 for me and 1 for each of my boys. The tent is easy to set up but a bit crampped once you get our backpack in it. I like it for its ease of set up and light weight. I purchased stronger stakes but all tents come with too small of stakes. I have recomended this tent to others and will continue to do so. Great for backpacking, not so great for comfort base camping. | | Scouter at Sports Authority on 12/31/2009 | Great for price! | | Rating: | | | Very easy to set up. The first camping trip with it, every wet and freezing element that could fall out of the sky, did. Not to mention the strong winds. The first night of this wind and weather, the front arch came down a little, only to realize I forgot to clip the fly to the pole. I did, the next night, with stronger wind, it did fine. Great for what you pay for, hands down. and it's very light weight. Just need sturdy soil to plant it in. | | MudSlut4x4 at Sports Authority on 07/01/2009 | Great little tent | | Rating: | | | This is a very light tent. I got it on sale, and boy am I pleased! Adding another kid to my camping crew, so I will buy another of these next week. I'm 6'4", and this is cramped with 2 people (although I've shared it with my 6 year-old son once). For a solo tent, it's perfect. All my gear, just enough room to move, and it's very very light and compact. | | Kermit is King at Sports Authority on 07/28/2009 | Great | | Rating: | | | Worked great on my camping trip in all conditions. 5 minute set-up. | | SD at Sports Authority on 07/22/2009 | best ever | | Rating: | | | [...] | | jrock at Sports Authority on 07/27/2009 |
| Negative Reviews:pros...cheap, cons...countless | | Rating: | | | I had a terrible experience with this tent. It does not have a rain fly so it leaks from the top and the sides...and it was not even raining that hard. It could probably fit 2 people⦠if they would sleep on top of each other. It is not a freestanding tent so the set up is not so smooth. Very little head room⦠very little room period! Extremely week poles⦠one started to break the first time I set it up. I would recommend it, but only to someone I really hate and I want him/her to have a horrible night without any sleep. Not very well ventilated. To open the window you have to get out of the tent⦠yes, the zipper is on the outside!!! The worst tent I ever had!!! | | edysica at Sports Authority on 08/10/2009 | Not bad for the price, but......... | | Rating: | | I was looking for a lightweight backpacking tent that would not break the bank. Well I found it. I've use the tent on two camping trips so far and in both cases, it rained. There is definately a leak issue towards the front door of the unit. This resulted in my mattress and sleeping bag being wet in the morning. The tent is good for one occupant with backpacking gear. I found that it is easy to set up in less than five minutes. After the second use, the cord inside the long pole snapped so the tent is out of service. I like the tent and if I can resolve the water and pole issue, I would use it again. As stated, you get what you pay for. | | Wash at Sports Authority on 10/25/2009 | Don't try this one in the rain | | Rating: | | | This is a great lightweight tent but if it rains you are in big trouble as all the seams leak pretty bad and you will be sleeping with everything real wet.Not a very comfortable situation in the middle of the night. | | steve at Sports Authority on 08/10/2009 |
Neutral Reviews:Good overall, some minor drawbacks. | | Rating: | | | I like this tent for the weight, I was a little unhappy with the nylon floor (instead of plastic) as a concern about rain. Condensation builds up inside fast, which can get your sleeping bag wet-Keeping the fly open a bit helps. Also, no rain fly- so I am waterproofing, and taping the seams, and bringing a small lightweight tarp. | | San Jacinto Hiker at Sports Authority on 10/12/2009 |
