ACCELERADE Sports Drink maximizes the energy dynamic during exercise to improve performance and speed up recovery. Like conventional sports drinks, ACCELERADE supplies the carbohydrates and electrolytes necessary for rehydrating and replenishing spent muscles. Unlike conventional sports drinks, ACCELERADE contains a patented 4:1 ratio of carbohydrate to protein. This speeds the movement of carefully balanced simple and complex carbohydrates into your muscles for rapid and sustained energy. ACCELERADE also contains essential antioxidants to reduce post-exercise muscle damage. Keep this 30-serving canister nearby and mix up some sports drink when you want to train longer and harder without feeling as sore afterwards.

The BEST on the market!!

Rating:*****

I've used Accelerade while running, cycling, and backpacking. It is simply the best on the market. Simply put you recover faster and feel better while exercising. It tastes good, mixes well, and is easy on the stomach. It maintains sugar levels throughout the activity and the protein aids in muscle recovery. After a 4 or 5 hour bike ride or after a marathon I drink one bottle and just feel better. Like with any sport drink, make sure you wash out your container after your done. It seems like Accelerade "molds" up the bottles quicker than other sports drink. If you want to stay hydrated while doing your extreme sport this is the stuff for you!

Good stuff

Rating:*****

Been drinking Accelerade for a couple of years now, after having various other sport drinks discontinued. My personal favorite flavor is the fruit punch, though orange is not bad. Have not tried the other flavors. I like the fact that Accelerade has a little protein in it, which seems to temper the sugar buzz a bit. In the winter I use it for cross-country skiing. To keep my Camelback from freezing, I load it into the Camelback hot. It tastes fine that way. Warning: heat the water, THEN mix it. If you mix it and then heat the mixture in a microwave, it foams like crazy.

does the job better than anything else i've found

i've been using this stuff in trail races to maintain blood sugar and help with recovery. seems to work pretty well to help maintain energy levels and function as a psuedo meal supplement with the protein. the downside is the protein makes for difficult cleanup in camelbak bladders and bottles. clean your bladders ASAP otherwise it's a pain and a mess. i just ordered a few more cannisters off bonktown after trying this stuff against GU drink and powerbar's drink mix -both of which are salt/sugar without the protein. thumbs up.

No more bonking!!!!

Rating:*****

Best sport drink I've ever used. It was recommended by a cycling coach, so I tried it. I haven't bonked since! And I've bonked before, People, so I know what it's like. My ride has been turbocharged and the only thing that changed is Accelarade with Caffeine. By the way, get a Blender Bottle from Amazon, I paid $6.75, it helps make the shake quickly without the annoying white residue. And no, they don't pay me. I just really, really like it.

Love it

Rating:*****

I love how it tastes (the orange kind). It says to put one scoop per 12oz, but I use 1 scoop for 24oz bottle and it's great - not too sweet, yet very tasty. I feel way less thursty than drinking plain water + it gives needed sugar boost. On thing that is annoying a bit is the white flakes that don't mix in very well (my guess that it's protein), but it doesn't bother me much.

Really great sports drink!

Rating:*****

Picked this up when heading up the trail one day to see if this was any better than Powerade or Gatorade. This really does hydrate you, as I did not even touch my water till I got to the top of the mountain. Highly recommended if you are looking for long term hydration!

Keeps me fueled, but you have to keep your bottles clean

Rating:****

I use this stuff all the time when I go riding. It tastes good and keeps me going, but it is very important to wash the bottle soon after the ride is finished. It is very hard to clean a bottle that has been left for a couple days.

Negative Reviews:

Can't beleive they use sucrose -- and its the main ingredient!!!

Rating:*

How any sports or health-oriented drink product could still use sucrose (table sugar) as a sweetener in such large quantities is beyond my comprehension. There is more sucrose in this drink than protein. There are better alternatives out there. This type of product should not be supported.

Pretty bad taste

Rating:***

I tried using the recommended amount but it tasted pretty bad. I then end up watering it down a ton by putting a scoop into a nalgene bottle instead, and then it tastes ok. On the plus side, it works. Not worth the $30 dollars, but I snagged it on Bonktown.com for $11+s&h.

Good stuff indeed

Rating:***

If you plan on exercising for more than 2 hours this is the stuff you need. Without a little protein you start to burn muscle around the 2nd hour. I dink it hot as well, I like the taste but could do without the faom. :) Bottoms Up.
